We found that the advert of SHELL was playing on the television; the advert added the animation into TV commercial that was increased creativity. The advert launched in 1950s or 1960s possibly and it was consisted of comedy man, Jazz music, monochrome frame, and Broadway style. Because the comedy man played the role, the advert became more vividly. The end of advert appeared the slogan that was “GO SHELL”; that made audiences more engaged in their brand. In addition, it was very interesting about another advert “The shell song TV advert” that made good use of advert song. A memorable song  not only can raise consumer impression but also can combine the brand as the song start to play.In the case, we can seen that Michael Holiday sings the celebrated shell song TV advert from 1950’s.

During the early section of the “Time Tunnel” Victoria, Edwardian era in 1910s, the appearance of women in adverts presented images that were quite different with present trend. The feature of women in adverts that wore classical dresses, elegant apparels, and presented the fashion of women gorgeously. These adverts of era used specific elements from upper class to connect their target consumers.

    We saw the film”Inside John Lewis” in the class yesterday,the film inspired me to think about how to operate of entrepreneur.I often passed John Lewis in Westquay and felt the shop’s decoration is huge and clear.After i saw the film, i thought i should usually go shopping there.There were many key factors that contributed the company to succeed.

    First of all, John Lewis gave bonus that was 13 percents to their employees.That was significant and quite excited things to them,as the company made good use of profits sharing to employees,these employees raised their loyalty with John Lewis.For me,i liked to receive bonus when i worked at the department store,especially year-end bonus that encouraged me keeping power and active with my job.

    In addition, John Lewis provided good service with their staff,it enable customers to purchase products whatever they want.Also, John Lewis served with high quality products and have refund service.I thought that was why John Lewis became a popular company.     

    Regarding the promotion of John Lewis,i considered they had perfect projects with every festival.When i saw the taking process of advertisement,that was attracted me!!The advertisement conveyed information about children’s reaction as they got gift on Christmas.And the AD accompanied with the song”sweet child of mine”,that was quite emotional,and may made audiences want to purchase gifts to their children,lover,family…etc.Therefore,I considered a successful company not only need to maintain high quality products,also need to perform their promotion well.Most importantly,they must understand what is the demand of customer. :D

<Inside John Lewis>

   Hey!!!!My Chinese name is YU-FANG CHIU,and you can call me Alice.I am 25 years old,came from Taiwan that is a beautiful country,full of delicious food and charming landscapes.I graduated from Shin Hsin university in 2009,and my major is advertising and public relations.Because i am interested in advertising and communicate with other people,i started to find similar subjects rather than some subjects i am not familiar.Finally,i decided to choose the major that is advertising design management.

    From 2009 to 2011,I worked at SOGO department store,that is a famous department store in Taiwan.I held the post of public relations.My main operating range includeD browse newspapers,collect important news and write press releases.In addition,we held press conferences to promote goods special offers and convey information to customers.For me,it was an important experience.I not only can learned a lot of knowledge,but also realized the major industry execute  process of decisions.

    In the future,I hope i can learn more advertising knowledge from my major.After i finish my master degree,I expect i have the chance to access advertising industry, acquiring specific knowledge and sufficient experiences against different challenges.My dream job is PR in luxury brand company,I hope i can achieve one day!!!: )))
